About
Hi, I'm Michelle. I founded Moss Stone Studio because I believe Chinese stone seal carving deserves to be more widely encountered. Here, I work with the craft as an art practice, a teaching practice, and a form of cultural inquiry.
For over a decade, I've worked across education, publishing, and the arts, designing learning experiences and sharing knowledge as an MOE educator, programme manager, and arts and travel editor.
In 2023, I curated Carving Possibilities, an exhibition of over 300 seal works across Singapore Management University and library@orchard. In 2026, I exhibited my own work, exploring how seal carving might speak to contemporary life through collage, fibre, and carved stone.
Today I teach and make from a studio in the heartlands. Through commissions, workshops, exhibitions, and partnerships, I'm interested in what happens when an ancient craft meets contemporary life. Every project is a way of asking: what else can seal carving become?
